Walking past the monument to concrete that is the Dublin City Council offices I noticed this little flower box hidden away from the eyes of the city planners behind a wooden sculpture.

Temple Bar is a bit of a tourist trap with it’s cobble stone streets, hotels and restaurants but it is full of interesting things to photograph. Even Temple Bar itself can be photogenic from time to time, if you can find space between the crowds.

The Temple Bar Fruit Market is held every Saturday and is a wonderful place to buy fresh fruit and veg and other food stuff. Even if you don’t want to buy food it’s still a colorful and interesting place to pass a few minutes. In fact it’s also home to one of the nicest coffee stalls in the city. I have to get a photo of that.

One from earlier this summer, I’m trying to catch up already. This is Kilmainhaim Gaol, the historic jail where Irish revolutionaries were held and in some cases executed.

Dublin’s Liberty Hall lit up with animated lights. They have finally managed to make the rusting husk of a building look pretty.

The main entrance to St Stephens Green is an archway built to commemorate the Irish who died in the Boer War. Their names are written under the arch itself.
